Keepsake Genealogy Charts

Are you organising your family history into display folders or would you like to more easily keep track of your research?

A4 size Folder Page Templates allow you to make and print the following pages from your own computer -

• 2 different size spine labels (40mm - 3 to a page and 65mm - 2 to a page, with cutting lines)
• cover pages
• title pages
• contents or source page
• tab labels
• pedigree charts

All are set out to match each other - all you have to do is type and print.  Type any title or name you require, use any page to suit your needs. You can use the different graphics on the spine labels for different families or just choose the graphics you like best.  Use any type of A4 paper suitable for your printer. All the spine label graphics line up with each other ie. if you have them on a bookshelf all the tree, ship, scroll etc graphics will be in an even line.

 NB.  Graphics are only on the spine label, front cover sheet and pedigree charts.

This product is sold as a CD and you copy the files onto your computer allowing you to make and print the templates as many times as you need.  The Folder Pages Templates are in Word 2003 template format and they are Word 2003/Word 2007 compatible and will open in Word 2010 in compatibility mode.  They can be saved and worked on at a later time.  Comes with instructions.

The black and white set with no graphic contains 17 templates.  All of the other sets contain 19 templates ( 2 extra spine labels).

An interactive Family Tree Template you can make and print using your own computer.  Samples below

Five (5) generation ancestor chart template files with space for birth, marraige and death details for the first 3 generations.  If you do not want these details to show, simply leave the form field blank and nothing will print.   There are 4 different styles to choose from and each style comes as:-

1 x black and white with BDM details; 1 x coloured by generation with BDM details (Samples below). 

The template file/s are saved into your ‘My Documents’ folder and can be filled in on your own computer and printed on any type of A4 paper compatible with your printer.  The chart can be made and saved as a Word doc. file and the template used over and over again.  Compatible with Word 2003 and Word 2007.  The template is set up with form fields and all you have to do is click in each field and type each person’s name.  You can type whatever you want for the title. The template is password protected and the formatting (eg. font, style, colour, size) cannot be altered.  The Font used is Bookman Old Style.  A set of instructions is included in the folder.

There are four different template styles to choose from.  The price for each chart file is .99c.

Give a Gift Genealogy Chart (Hourglass style) for any occasion - Birthdays, Anniversaries, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas.

The Gift Chart is A3 size (11.69" x 16.54" / 297mm x 420mm) and is printed on 220gsm off white card, which is suitable for framing. The Frame is as shown in the sample above, an A3 Timber Frame, with glass and hanging hook, made in Australia.  Chart can be purchased framed or unframed. Unframed charts are posted in a rigid heavyweight A3 envelope.  Framed charts are posted in a carton, frame wrapped in bubblewrap and lots of foam packaging.

Send your GEDCOM file or hand written/typed family history data, to have an Hourglass Gift Chart made, as shown in samples.  The Hourglass Chart works best in the frame and it includes the focus person, descendants and ancestors.  The focus person is highlighted by a different coloured box.  A maximum of 7 generations depending on the amount of information.  Add the title of your choice and a notation if required. A sample proof of your chart will be emailed for approval, prior to payment and printing.  The unframed chart is designed to fit exactly into the back of an A3 frame or you could have it matted and framed into a frame size of your choice. 

Price includes consultation/making of chart, 1 photo of focus person, setup, proof sample, printing, postage (regular parcel post) and handling.  Registered post by request.

Handwrite and display your family tree or use the charts as an aid to keep track of your research by filling in your ancestor’s details on a blank genealogy chart.  Printed on quality Bright White 90gsm paper, suitable for pencil, pen or permanent marker.  The paper can also be laminated. Charts are posted rolled in a mailing tube or carton.

Postage rates for Blank Charts are based on the order value.  Charts posted in Australia are sent  regular parcel post.  Registered post by request.

Service

Your family history data will be typed into a genealogy program which will then make it possible for a Custom Chart to be prepared. 

Process

• Send your family data and any photos or clip art you would like included.  If sending photos, please make sure they are clearly marked with each person’s name and date of birth on the back.
• The standard genealogy format is full name, birth date/birth place; marriage date/marriage place; death date/death place for each person (if known).
• Choose a Custom Chart using the Custom Chart Samples as a guide or request your own preferences. Please Note: Custom Chart Samples have been made using Family Tree Super Tools.  Charts can also be made from Family Tree Maker and Legacy.
• Post your family data and any photos or clip art required and complete a Custom Chart Online Order Form.  If posting photos, please send copies of originals.

OR

• Submit a Custom Chart Online Order Form and email your data, photos, clip art to info@keepsakegenealogycharts.com.au

• NOTE: Large files (over 5mb) need to be compressed if sending as an email. 
• After receiving your order, family data and attachments for review, and following any necessary consultations with you, a quotation will be prepared.  A JPEG image of your chart will be emailed to you for approval prior to final payment and printing.

• $30 per hour for consultation/typing/chart preparation + chart printing costs + $8 postage and handling for charts up to 500 grams mailed regular parcel post within Australia.  Please note - a non refundable deposit is required before work can begin.  The deposit will come off the total order cost.  Balance payable prior to printing.

• Choose text, box border and lines - colour, size and style.
• Choose the person type to include eg - focus, spouses, ancestors.
• Colour by generation or male/female. 
• Change Chart title formatting and position.
• Choose between Caps, No Caps, All Caps for name line.
• Select box text centred, left or right.
• Add a box shadow or frame.
• Add Researcher box details.
• Add clip art or photos.  Photos can be edited 1st to include text and cropped to various shapes. 
• Add a favourite photo as a centred background up to A1 size.  A landscape photo works best on a Portrait Chart.  Photo edges can be faded to blend into the page.
• Include siblings, exclude living persons, show duplicated persons.

Keepsake Genealogy Charts, commenced in 2008, is a small business situated on the beautiful NSW Central Coast.  Keepsake Genealogy Charts evolved through my interest in genealogy, family history and scrapbooking.  My genealogy research, which began in 1999, led me on an interesting journey of discovery both here and overseas.  In the process I have made contact with relatives and fellow researchers from all over Australia and parts of Britain and Sweden. I am a member of the Central Coast Family History Society which has its research centre at East Gosford. The aim of Keepsake Genealogy Charts is to provide a chart making and printing service to allow you to display your genealogy and family history data.

If you have made your chart and one measurement is larger than 24", it may be possible to shrink the chart slightly to fit on the 24" printer roll.  Alternatively, if your chart is narrow and long eg. 10" x 48", it may be possible to fit two charts on the one print run, for the same print cost.  Please contact me to discuss any of the above options.

Process

If using The Master Genealogist or Family Tree Super Tools:-

• Make your chart and save it using .vc2 file extension.
• Send an email to info@keepsakegenealogycharts.com.au with the chart file as an attachment.
• Go to the Print Your Chart Online Order Form below, complete the form and click on SUBMIT.

If using Family Treemaker (early versions):

• Make your chart and save it in Family Tree Maker. Export your .ftw file and the chart will be included in the data file.
• Send an email to info@keepsakegenealogycharts.com.au with the data file as an attachment.
• Go to the Print Your Chart Online Order Form below, complete the form and click on SUBMIT.

If using Family Treemaker (latest version)

• Make your chart and save it as a one page PDF.
• Send an email to info@keepsakegenealogycharts.com.au with the PDF file as an attachment.
• Go to the Print Your Chart Online Order Form below, complete the form and click on SUBMIT.

If sending a PDF file:

• Send your PDF file as an email attachment.
• Go to the Print Your Chart Online Order Form below, complete the form and click on SUBMIT.

Process - To receive a free, no obligation quotation

• Save and export your relevant data file using your software or GEDCOM.
• Send an email to info@keepsakegenealogycharts.com.au with the data file as an attachment. 
• Email any photos, clip art etc. to be used on the chart.
• Go to the Custom Chart Order Form below, complete the form and click on SUBMIT.  After receiving your order, data file and attachments for review, and following any necessary consultations with you, a quotation will be prepared along with a JPEG image of your chart which will be emailed to you for approval prior to payment and printing. 
• The Custom Chart Order Form is the starting point for a basic chart, if you require additional features, please enter these in the  "Any further Instructions" box on the Custom Chart Order Form, or email me to discuss.
• If your genealogy software allows for small photos to be added to an individual text data box, the photos need to be included in the data set eg. if using Family Tree Maker the photo should be saved in Scrapbook before the data file is saved. One photo per person only.

Personalised paper banners made to order for that special occasion – baby/christening, reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings etc.  All banners printed on 24" (60cm) wide paper.  Paper is 90gsm bright white. Choose the length - 4ft (122cm), 5ft (152cm),  or 6ft (183cm).  Larger banner lengths and custom banners on request.

Standard Banners - Banner printing costs are for Standard Banners only.  Price includes Banner Heading, name and date/s and 2 photos (if applicable to your banner sample).  Banner heading can be changed if required, for no additional cost.  Choose a banner style, note the banner code.  Order by using either the PayPal Buy Now button or the Online Order Form below.   A proof file of your banner will be forwarded to you for checking, prior to printing.

If you are using one of the following programs – The Master Genealogist V4 or earlier, Family Gathering, Family Origins, Family Tree Maker, Generations, Legacy, Personal Ancestral File, Roots IV, Roots V and Ultimate Family Tree, your data can be imported directly into charting software to produce a chart.
